Job description
The SCADA & Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA systems and industrial automation solutions. The role ensures reliable real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of industrial processes through integration of PLCs, RTUs, sensors, and SCADA platforms.
The engineer plays a key role in system configuration, field commissioning, troubleshooting, and ensuring operational continuity of automation infrastructure across industrial or utility environments.
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field
Experience
3–6+ years experience in SCADA, PLC, or industrial automation systems
Technical Skills
SCADA systems: AVEVA Wonderware / WinCC / Ignition (preferred)
PLC programming: Siemens / Allen-Bradley / Schneider Electric
Industrial protocols: Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP
HMI design and configuration
Basic understanding of electrical control systems
Work conditions:

Engagement based on project scope, milestones, or hourly/daily assignments
Flexible working schedule, subject to project deadlines and commissioning windows
May require short-term deployment to client sites for installation or commissioning phases
Responsibilities:
A. SCADA System Design & Development
Design SCADA architecture for industrial or utility systems
Develop HMI screens, dashboards, alarms, trends, and reporting systems
Configure SCADA platforms (e.g., AVEVA Wonderware, Siemens WinCC, Ignition)
Ensure system redundancy, scalability, and cybersecurity compliance
B. PLC / RTU Integration
Program and configure PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, ABB)
Integrate SCADA systems with PLCs and RTUs
Implement industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
C. Commissioning & Testing
Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
Support installation, commissioning, and system validation on-site
Troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues
D. Operations & Maintenance
Monitor system performance and ensure high availability
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation systems
Diagnose and resolve SCADA/PLC faults in real-time operations
E. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare technical documentation, as-built drawings, and system manuals
Maintain configuration records and change logs
Provide technical reports for project stakeholders
F. Collaboration & Support
Work with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering teams
Support project managers in delivering automation projects on schedule
Provide technical support to operations teams and end-users
